  • The Art of Straddling Boundaries
Zhang Hongtu Solo Exhibition.

Two of Zhang's art pieces are a rarity in terms of the size and the visual effect after the mixing of Occident and Oriental aestheticism. Other three pieces of "Ts'un study" are the beginning new phase of Zhang Hongtu's "landscape remaking series." Due to the artist's active intervention of the image, the dialogue between the East and the West in "landscape remaking series" transforms into a three party conversation, raising again the same old question: What is Chinese painting? What is Western painting?
