Lin & Lin Gallery is honored to present the solo exhibition “Fragment” by Wu Meng-Chang in December. The artist observes the diverse morphological characteristics of stone and explores and responds to the unique beauty through sculptural techniques such as "penetration”, “grinding”, “fracturing" and "combination." In each trace of splitting and grinding in the works reveal a fragment of the artist's dialogue under the intuitive perception of nature. In the fusion of the form space and the spiritual space, forming Wu Meng-Chang's outlook of life in his stone sculptures with a natural harmony and a profound sense of self-awareness.

“Each moment of inner essence is a manifestation and projection of multiple consciousnesses,
not merely a continuation in time, but also an exploration etched into the soul. In the boundless expanse of time and space,
each fragment pulls and merges with the others, gradually connecting to form a complete and profound existence.”
——Wu Meng-Chang

Stone sculpture is the artist's visualization of the observation and awareness of life's experiences. The work carries a deep dialogue of the artist’s perception of nature, embodying beauty and harmony even in imperfection and the coexistence of contrasts. For the artist, stone sculpture is a process of self-fulfillment, with reflections on the life issues projected into the work. The rough, fractured surfaces and the smooth, flowing contours exist in harmony, allowing the stone to exude a profound and tranquil aura. Every facet and trace reveals a delicate and sincere sculptural language. Much like a reflection on self-awareness, the work records the artist’s insights into life, not only as the creative trajectory forged through years of refinement, but also as fragments of conscious perception and layers of awareness—both the imprint of the past and the reflection of the present.
