The LIN & LIN Gallery is invited to attend ART Stage 2012, and this time the LIN & LIN Gallery is going to present the works of Chen Chieh-Jen, Liu Wei and Yin Zhaoyang whose works demonstrate the local Chinese contemporary point of view of cultural aesthetics.
The worldwide famous Taiwanese contemporary video artist Chen Chieh-Jen has been invited to hold numerous exhibits abroad and just finished his international tour in Dublin, Goteborg and Moscow. At ART Stage 2012, the LIN & LIN Gallery is presenting Chen’s work, Empire’s Borders II – Western Enterprises, Inc. which discusses that the Empire/Nation machine attempts to re-encode and re-embed the history in the name of Recalling the History. Thefilm concretes theWestern Enterprises, the building which implies empire with a form of poetic dialectic and form the epitome of 60 years Taiwanese history during the post-war period into a labyrinth-like space and into a desolate place without being remembered. Through rewriting and transforming the localized experiences, the artist has built a history which belongs to local culture.
Liu Wei has been recognized the most talented artist in the post 1989s Chinese contemporary art milieu. And he is the first artist who has been noticed in the West with his cynical realism painting style. Besides, he was one of the Chinese contemporary artists, who had been invited to attend the Venice Biennial. Liu’s smooth, shattered and gluey stroke becomes his painting characteristic, and he has also been trying different media and style in order to self-challenge and to reform the originality. His variety of works gives the viewers a brand- new visual experience. At ART stage 2012, the LIN & LIN Gallery is showing his latest works, no matter birds, flowers or the landscape paintings, which embody his personal internality of both the eastern and western culture in his creation.
Receiving the international attention, Yin Zhaoyang had started the Post-70s artists’ discussion of Youth Sadness. He has launched numerous solo exhibitions in Bangkok, Beijing, Hong Kong, Korea, and Spain in 2011. Meanwhile the solo exhibition held in the LIN & LIN Gallery, Taipei, presented his new serious “Great Scenery “. These works were on the subject of mountains and temples, and the artist created his own inner emotion which was between the realistic reproduction and the subjective construction. This has reflected the return of thoughts and the literati profundity while the Chinese artists face the contemporary art trend. The LIN & LIN Gallery is simultaneously continuing this new serious, showing Yin’s latest works in the art fair.
