Hsu is a modern pottery artist of first generation overseas Chinese and this is his first Taipei exhibition. At the end of 50s, Hsu's works emit a profound sense of Han dynasty's bronze ware texture. His work's color and luster is sedative and reserved, with a great variety of model. In the 60s, Hsu has worked with Roy Lichtenstein in creating a series of art pieces. In the mid of 60s, his models transform from the traditional irregular organic shapes into sculpturing models of a symmetrical equilibrium. The color of his work also changes into a vivid and bright texture.
