Shen Liang was invited to participate in "Group as Method: Research and Samples of Art Groups from Central Academy of Fine Art" held by CAFA Art Museum. The exhibition takes "group" as a clue to the study of Chinese art history with the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) as its coordinate, attempts to sort out and present the documents of art groups at different periods in the history of the CAFA, and selects a number of representative groups as samples to be exhibited in a concrete way.
The exhibition focuses on works created during the flourishing period of the art groups, which aims to bring the visitors back to the scene of the group's occurrence, meanwhile emphasizing the personal growth of the members in the group. The juxtaposition of works from the members’ early years and the present can also serve as a perspective for observing the relationship between the growth of the artists and the art group.
